Ndaru (Rani) MaharaniENT Theatre Nurse, Waikato DHB, Hamilton, NZ
Rani is from Indonesia and immigrated to New Zealand in 2006. Her best friend’s mother is a nurse and her example of how she cares for people inspired Rani to become a nurse. She completed her Bachelor of Nursing at Waikato Institute of Technology and graduated in 2017.
Rani’s IP placement was in the ENT theatre at Waikato Hospital. This experience was the highlight of her training and she decided then that she wanted to be a perioperative nurse. |
Rani began as an RN in Waikato Hospital Operating Theatre in 2017. She spent 3 years in General Surgery. At the beginning of 2020, she requested to move to the ENT Theatre. Rani loves ENT because it is highly specialized, is developing new skills, feels part of the team, is gaining opportunities to develop professionally and especially loves all the children she gets to care for. She is looking forward to connecting with ENT nurses from other centres.
